Nina Monroe, RN LNHA
Director of Nursing
Nina began her career as a Registered Nurse in 1987 in a small rural hospital in Middle Tennessee. It was at this facility that she also began her career in nurse leadership when she became the Director of Nursing in 1990. Since that time, Nina has held Director of Nursing positions in two additional hospitals and has logged over 30 years of nursing experience in areas such as Surgical Intensive Care, Cardiology, Renal Transplantation, Long Term Care, Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Infection Control and Occupational Health. In 1999, Nina was employed by the Tennessee Department of Health, Health Care Facilities Division, as the Regional Administrator for Middle Tennessee. Nina was responsible for state and federal surveys conducted of all health care facilities in the region, including long term care. It was this job that sparked Nina’s interest in long term care, and in 2007, Nina accepted the position as Bethany’s Director of Nursing. In addition to her position as DON, Nina continues to work on a part-time basis as a consultant for regulatory compliance in long term care facilities throughout Tennessee and in 2016, became licensed in Tennessee as a Nursing Home Administrator. Nina is committed to ensuring that our residents receive nursing care that is of the highest standard of quality. She believes the highest standards are achieved through fostering a healthy work culture, through development of therapeutic relationships in every care experience between residents, resident families and staff and through continuous improvement and development of innovative, efficient systems for care delivery.
